Military camp Hope 2020 dates TBA

For viii years, the Alameda County Family Justice Eye in partnership with Camp Promise America sends over xl children to Army camp HOPE, a 5 night sleep over camp at Kidder Creek in Northern California. Camp HOPE America is the leading year-round camping and mentoring program in the state for children and teens impacted past domestic violence. They are focused on creating collaborative, trauma-informed, and hope-centered pathways for trauma-exposed kids to believe in themselves, in others, and in their dreams. Information technology is a wonderful opportunity for our kids just to be kids.

Training: Mental Wellness Professionals Mar 15, 2019

Alameda County Family Justice Center Training Academy Presents:
Adult Suicide Assessment & Intervention for Mental Health Professionals

The training will be on Apr 11th
from 10am to 12 noon at the Alameda County Family unit Justice Centre
(470 – 27th Street in Oakland).

This two-60 minutes workshop is geared toward mental health professionals or anyone that would be in a position to piece of work with a customs member at risk for suicide.

The workshop uses a combination of pedagogy methods including didactic work, lecture, and word. The workshop will encourage participates to explore their own feelings towards suicide and suicidal clients. It will address common myths and perceptions about suicide and suicidal behavior.

The workshop will encompass suicide statistics, trauma, and suicide theory with an emphasis on Thomas Joiners model: The Interpersonal Theory of Suicide. Risk factors, alarm signs and protective factors will exist introduced and reviewed. Participants will learn methods of suicide risk assessment and will be introduced to screening tools that aid in determining suicide run a risk. Emphasis will be placed on how to ask, talk about suicide and how to conduct a hazard assessment. Questions for risk assessment will exist handed out during the workshop for attendees to take domicile.

Safety planning will be introduced using Stanley & Browns Safety Planning Template. Safety Planning APPS will be introduced and discussed.

ACFJC Preparation Academy Feb half-dozen, 2019

Inspired by the leadership of the our District Chaser Nancy O'Malley, the Alameda Canton Family unit Justice Eye will become an official Training Academy. The ACFJC will conduct 4 trainings per year focusing on legal, law enforcement, paramedics/ and counseling. Our get-go training will be on March 1st, and will be a 2 hour console discussion MCLE discussing the criminal restraining order process from 911 call to conviction/dismissal. Alameda County Superior Courtroom Guess Gregory Syren, District Attorney Casey Bates and Officer Melissa Baddie will exist presenting.

The next training will exist in the Leap, the date and topic to be determined.

The Academy gives preparation credits for professionals.

The 2014 tournament, last October at Tilden Golf Grade in Berkeley, hosted 60 golfers who participated in many fun activities, a wine raffle and a buffet lunch. The highlight of the day was the presentation of a $25,000 scholarship to an ACFJC client.

Please join us for the Interfaith Initiative Pilot Programme (IIPP) Open House on June iii, 2015 from 1pm to ii:30pm. The IIPP provides therapeutic counseling and spiritual support to victims of domestic violence and connects victims to our network of Temples, Mosques, Synagogues, and other spiritual coming together places to ensure continued spiritual support.
